Ms. Starkey has experience managing information and records, specifically working with metadata and the organization of information.  She has cataloged, organized, arranged, and indexed file collections and created/populated databases.  While in her Master’s degree program, Ms. Starkey focused on the organization of information, including digital initiatives regarding information access, organization, and usability.

Ms. Starkey has extensive experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.  She is also familiar with metadata schemas, including Dublin Core (DC), Metadata Objection Description Schema (MODS), and Machine-Readable Cataloging (MARC) 21.  Ms. Starkey has excellent customer service and organizational skills and considerable experience with Internet searching, database searching, and online reference materials.

As a Digital Librarian at PAI, Ms. Starkey is creating a digital library to provide a repository of information related to topics of interest in aviation by assembling, cataloging, and organizing reliable resources.  She also assists in creating and translating concepts used to scan the narrative components of incident and accident reports for variations of terms related to the desired search.
